| .Welcome! Hello and welcome to  the_iconawards! This community is simmilar to many of the other monthly icon award communities, except that here, you nominate your OWN icons for various different icon-related awards. Once nominations are complete, voting will go up and the winners will get a banner for each award won to display on their journal. Simply put this community is about showing off your own work! Whether you've been making icons for years or are a beginner feel free to enter and have fun!Banner makers:  peculiargroove & shalowater.Rules and Guidelines Nominations: Each month the community will be open for nominations. You can nominate up to 2 icons (made by you) in each category. . The icons you submit can be as old or as recent as you like as long as they are made by you. Just because you made an icon months ago doesn't mean it shouldn't be celebrated, right? If you win in any category you CANNOT nominate that icon again. Nominations will be open for 20 days so plenty of time to decide what icons you want to nominate. When nominating your icons please state WHERE you post your icons so your link can be added to the hall of fame if you win. You can nominate animated icons in the BEST ANIMATED ICON category and ICON MAKER'S CHOICE category ONLY. You DO NOT need to nominate in every category - it's up to you! However, nominations to the ICON MAKER'S CHOICE category are MANDATORY. To nominate your icons, reply to the nominations post and state clearly which category you are nominating each icon for and obviously provide the icon and it's URL. I will provide a form you can fill out to make this easier. Icons can be of ANYTHING be it fandom or stock or whatever unless specifically stated in a category. Bad Language in icons is allowed but not nudity (or at least nothing too rude!) If you aren't sure, feel free to ask! Voting: When nominations are closed voting will commence. I will post a poll for each award category. Voting will be open for 5-7 Days depending on the votes still needed. If we have a tie-break situation, a seperate tie-breaker voting post will be put up. You MUST NOT vote for yourself - i'll be checking! As nominated icons can be old or more recent you may know whom certain icons were made by during voting. Please vote without bias and do not try and get other people to vote for you. I want it to be fair and it'll be worth it in the end because if you win you'll know it's because people judged the icon on its own merits. .Award Categories Here is a list of all the award categories where you can nominate up to 2 of your icons per category and a description of each category. Best Overall Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 icons that you are particularly proud of. All Fandoms/Stock/Subject accepted. Best Colouring For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons which you feel fit this category. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Text For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that you feel have a paticularly good use of text. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Cropping For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that you feel show a good use of cropping. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Most Creative For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that you feel are creative or unusual in some way. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Textless For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that have NO text on them. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Use Of Texture(s) For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that you feel show a good or creative use of textures. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Animated Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your own animated icons. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Black And White Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that are black and white. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. Best Disney Icon I love a good disney icon so I thought i'd give them their own category. For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that are disney related (movies, tv shows, characters, disneyland etc). Best Movie Icon For this category you can nominated up to 2 of your icons that are MOVIE RELATED ONLY. Best Television Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that are TV RELATED ONLY. Best Music Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your icons that are related to a MUSICIAN OR BAND ONLY. LYRIC ICONS ALSO ACCEPTED in this category. Best Celebrity Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your CELEBRITY RELATED ICONS ONLY. Best Stock Icon For this category you can nominate up to 2 of your STOCK ICONS ONLY. Best Special Category Icon This will be a specially chosen theme that will change each month. It might be a particular fandom or subject or it could be more general like 'funny icons' for example. You can nominate up to 2 of your own icons. All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted unless otherwise stated. Icon Maker's Choice Award This category is slightly different. For this category you can nominate up to 2 of SOMEONE ELSE'S ICONS, but don't forget to tell them in case they win! All Fandoms/Stock/Subjects accepted. .Hall Of Fame HALL OF FAME.
